I had the idea for this site years ago, back when I was a student and fundulgence was a way of life, an artform and an education in itself.  I planned to set up a website dedicated to fundulgence – covering and coordinating as many forms of entertainment as I could – the only criteria being that it had to provide an enjoyable distraction from the reality of being (or becoming) a grown-up.  At the time though, I was spending too much time fundulging to actually get it up and running – perhaps I had a better sense of priorities in those days…
Anyway, here it is, a few years later than expected, and with a lot less coverage of student nights, clublife and drunken debauchery than I’d originally intended!  Hopefully now that I’m older, wiser, and mostly soberer (sic) it’ll make for a better read, or if not better, then at least a bit more coherent. The initial focus is on film reviews, many of which have already been published elsewhere (the site will double up as an online portfolio), but in time I intend to branch into other genres of fundulgence – music, games, photography, gigs, even (dare I say it?) more cultural (!) stuff like books, galleries and theatre – high brow eh?Â
That’s the beauty of fundulgence, it’s all down to personal tastes so it’ll be different for us all, and it’s inevitable that it changes with the individual.  My idea of fundulgence is vastly different now to what it consisted of a few years back, and no doubt it’ll change further over time and that’ll be reflected through the posts on this site. With any luck it’ll be an interesting journey and perhaps you’ll share some of my ideas of fundulgence and hopefully contribute some of your own. So… care to fundulge with me?Â
Enjoy,
Bren.
